Terms and Conditions

1. Commission Requests

The client submits a request through form or email to begin the process for custom artwork. Requests will be reviewed before confirming availability. The artist reserves the right to accept or decline any request without explanation.

2. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are quoted based on details provided by the client and can vary based on complexity as well as other factors such as rush orders and special requests.

  • For general illustrations, 50% upfront payment is required to begin working on the sketch. The remaining 50% is due after the sketch is delivered.

  • For all other commissions, 100% upfront payment is required.

  • Payments are done in CAD, through PayPal or E-transfer, 5% discount off of the total price of the commission if E-transfer is the payment method.

3. Revisions

  • One revision after the final artwork is included in the quoted price as long as requested within two months that the artwork is delivered.

  • Revisions involve minor changes that fit within the original request and depend on the amount of time required to make such changes.

  • Additional revisions or changes outside the original request will incur extra charges, payment will be required prior to revision work.

4. Deadlines and Communication

  • Estimated delivery times are around 1 month after work begins but varies depending on the specifics of the commission.

  • The artist aims to respond to all inquiries within 1–2 business days

  • For longer projects, the artist will provide biweekly updates, or upon request.

  • Delays in client communication or payment may affect when the project is completed.

  • If there is no communication regarding the commission for an extended period (>3 weeks), the commission is considered automatically cancelled

  • All sketches and final images for revision will be sent in a low resolution format. In-between progress images will not be sent unless agreed upon by special request

5. Refunds and Cancellations

  • If the client cancels before work on the commissions begins, a full refund will be issued

  • If the client cancels the commission after the artist has begun the drawing process, no refund will be issued.

  • The artist has the right to cancel the commission at any time.

  • If the artist cancels the commission due to the client's failure to follow the terms of service, no refund will be issued.

  • If the artist cancels the commission due to reasons independent of the client, the client will be offered either a full refund, or a partial refund along with the incomplete artwork, at the artist's discretion.

6. Copyright

  • Commissions are for personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction or selling the commissioned artwork is NOT ALLOWED unless agreed upon beforehand in writing.

  • Clients may upload the finished artwork to social media sites as long as credit is given.

  • The artist retains all rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to promote using the artwork online and resell copies in the form of prints or merchandise.

7. Liability

  • The artist is not responsible for third-party delays (e.g. payment platforms or shipping delays).

  • All services are provided on an "as is" basis.

8. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated when necessary. The current version will be available on artists website with the latest revision date.

FAQs

What is the process for illustration commissions?

Illustrations commissions involve 3 phases, sketch, colour thumbnail, and final render. I will ask the client to approve the progress of the artwork before progressing each phase so to best ensure the illustration is aligned with the initial request.
50% of the payment is required upfront to book and begin work on the sketch. The remainder is required after the colour thumbnail and before work begins on the final render.

What revisions are included in the quoted price?

The initial quoted price includes one free revision after each phase of the commission process. The revision can include minor changes such as adjusting tone/colour, small detail changes in clothing or expression. Additional revisions will accrue additional charges, to be paid before work on the commission progresses. If the asked for revision goes beyond the original commission request, it will be treated as a new commission.

Can I opt out of involvement in the sketch/colour thumbnail phase?

Yes, this would mean you would receive only the final render of the artwork. Because less time is spent on client/artist correspondence, there is a 50 CAD discount applied to the initial quote if you decide to opt out of involvement in the sketch and colour thumbnail phase. However, one free revision is still included after you receive the final render.

Will you draw ___? In ___ style?

As with any artist, there are things I have more experience drawing than others. I will always inform you beforehand if a request is one I do not think I can fulfill.
Please take a browse on my social media to get an idea of my art styles. I will not imitate another specific artist's style but general requests like "painterly" or "clean line art" are a-OK.

What is the process for character commissions?

For character commissions, the full payment is required upfront to book and begin work on the commission. Additional costs may be included in the quote for design work, props, or a simple background. Please note there is no sketch or thumbnail phase as there is with an illustration commission. You will receive the final artwork after you have provided suitable references/description of your character.

What revisions are included in the quoted price?

The initial quoted price includes one free revision after the final artwork is delivered. The revision can include minor changes such as adjusting tone/colour, small detail changes in clothing or expression. If the asked for revision goes beyond the original commission request, it will be treated as a new commission.

FAQs

What is the process for Sticker Sheet Commissions?

For pet sticker sheet commissions, the full payment is required upfront to book and begin work on the commission.
I will require reference photos you've taken of your pet to create the stylized designs. If the references are too blurry or inadequate for what I believe to be a cohesive layout, I will request more references.
By sending me photos of your pet for the commission, you are giving me permission to use the images freely, as well as your pet's likeness to create the stylized sticker designs.

What revisions are included in the quoted price?

The initial quoted price includes one free revision after the final artwork is delivered. The revision can include minor changes such as adjusting tone/colour. However the sticker designs will not be redrawn. If there was a specific reference of your pet you would've liked me to base one of the designs on, please let me know before I start working on the commission.

When can I expect my stickers to arrive?

Since I coordinate the creation, manufacturing, and shipping of the stickers, the time it takes for the stickers to arrive at your doorstep may vary greatly. If you are looking to use them as a gift for a special occasion, allow for at least 3 months from when the payment is processed to receive them.

Will the commissioned sticker sheet be reproduced for sale?

To help offset the costs of manufacturing/creating the sticker sheets, I may include them for sale online or at art markets.
However I understand pets are deeply personal, and people commission artwork of them for different reasons. Please indicate if you prefer the sticker sheets to not be reproduced for sale, and you will be quoted an adjusted price. There will be limitations on the quantity of sheets you can order with a minimum order of 10 sheets.
